Beware of criminals misrepresenting properties on Craig's List.
This past year I had someone take one of my homes that I had for sale on the MLS and actually list it for rent on Craig's List. They listed themselves as the owners and then asked for $750 per month and $750 security deposit. This should be your first sign that something is up. A 1500 sq ft home does not rent this cheap. These are rent price's from the 1980's.
Anyways they say there out of town and that they should do a drive by to see if it would work for them. They then say that they have had many calls on the property and they expect to have a security deposit in shortly, so if they like it they better move quickly. They say this to create a sense of urgency.
I found out about this not by seeing the Craig's List ad but by the people who were scammed out of there $750 dollars. They went by the house and saw my yard sign then called me.
There was nothing they could do they had mailed there checks to some address in Florida and there money was gone. Only thing left to do call the police and cry.
Now fast forward I just sold my personal house and plan on purchasing within the year. We are doing a quick close and have no idea where I want to purchase so I'm going to do a rental. So I'm scanning Craig's List and every where else for a rental. When I find a home in Denton for guess how much? Yep $750 so of course I call on it and send an email. This time it get's even better they say there a Reverend for a church and there on a mission trip to West Africa Nigeria for four years. They send me an application witch you will see in a moment when I copy the email.
I do some research on the property and found that it was for sale and in it's option period of the purchasing process. I then called the listing Realtor to her a heads up.
People please be careful out there hire yourself an honest Realtor even for rentals and play it safe.

Which I can send to you after all necessary agreement has be accepted. Also I will like you to know that the rent charges is not really the issue ,but your absolute maintenance of my House is most important thing

"Sometimes we think true customer service is dead in America and then we meet total strangers like my friend Jimmy. I met Jimmy because of an un-foreseen situation where I had to move from my rental home. Jimmy met me at one of the houses I was interested in buying then he kind of just step back and let me walk through the home.
