Rain, rain, go away. How drainage affects your property.A little rain may be just what our plants and trees need after our dry summers, but a lot of rain can become a problem for some properties.
One of the most common things people ask me about is, what are the best projects to do before listing your house for sale.
“Should we renovate the kitchen?”
“Should we redo the bathroom?”
“Will painting the house help it sell?”
“Does ‘staging’ really make a difference?”
…just to name a few.
Obviously, it’s good to spruce up your home before you list it for sale. And sometimes I do recommend doing one or more of those things.
But the most common advice I give is to simply “declutter”.
Just get rid of all of the “stuff” you’ve accumulated and is sitting around the house, jamming up your closets, piled in the basement, garage, or attic.
That does wonders.
The problem is, most people put off doing this until a few days or weeks before they list their house for sale, making it a bigger, tougher job. Sometimes it just never gets done.
So, my advice is this…
If you’re going to sell your house in the near future, start decluttering now. That way you can take your time, and do it bit by bit.
