You don’t have to spend a fortune this season to enjoy some Halloween fun and games with the whole family. We found some wallet-friendly fall and Halloween activities for the entire family in the Dallas – Ft. Worth area. Best of all, many of them are either free or very cheap!


Brick or Treat – LEGOLAND Discovery Center – October 22-23 & 29-30, 2016
Bring your little monsters to LEGOLAND® Discovery Center Dallas/Fort Worth and get into the Halloween spirit with Brick-Or-Treat. Halloween Nights at the Dallas Zoo – October 27-30, 2016

Family Fun Weekend at the Dallas Arbotetum – October 29 & 30, 2016

Trick-or-treat throughout the gardens with costumed characters and other family fun activities. Children are encouraged to wear festive costumes. Boo at the Zoo at Fort Worth Zoo – October 28, 29 & 30, 2016

Scare on the Square – October 31, 2016

McKinney’s annual Scare on the Square has grown to hundreds of trick-or-treaters enjoying hayrides, treats and a safe, secure, family-fun Halloween event. Historic Downtown is closed off for trick-or-treaters to cross the street safely and go shop-to-shop for goodies. Bring your little goblins and join us for Scare on the Square! More details.

Kidgits Boo Bash at North East Mall

Children can participate in craft projects and games. Each trick-or-treater will get a treat bag. Don't miss the Chick-fil-a cow and take a photo at the fall backdrop.  Costumes are welcome, but masks are allowed only on children 12 years old or younger. No toy weapons are allowed.

Halloween events at Bass Pro Shops

Children can make free Halloween crafts, get their photo taken with the Peanuts gang. On October 30 and October 31, there will also be trick-or-treating and a costume parade.

Recommended ages: 12 and younger

When: 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Friday October 30 and Saturday, October 31
